Benefits of a fibre connection
3. 1. 2023
Fibre internet is certainly the most reliable and, for the future, the most promising way of connecting to the internet. It is highly stable and offers high speeds both for downloading data and for uploading it.
What is a fibre-optic cable?
A fibre-optic cable works on the principle of sending data by means of light beams, which travel through optical fibres only a few micrometres wide. This is what distinguishes a fibre connection from other technologies, which use electrical impulses to transmit data. Thanks to optical fibres, which are made of glass and in which the signal is carried by light, a fibre connection achieves great performance. Fibres are used instead of metal cables because signals are transmitted with minimal loss, and fibres are also immune to electromagnetic interference. In other words, if there is a storm, a gale or hard frost outside, you will not notice any difference in the quality of your internet connection at all.

Benefits of a fibre-optic cable
Delivers high speeds
Optical fibre technology can carry data flows at speeds of tens of gigabits per second (Gbps), and in exceptional cases even terabit speeds can be reached. In our offer, a connection with a speed of up to 2,000 Mbps is available on selected projects.
Stable in all weather
A fibre connection is not affected by the weather. Optical cables are laid underground, so they are protected from external influences. An outage can therefore occur if the cable is damaged during various construction works, or in the event of a power cut at the customer's premises.

Almost 100% responsiveness
Responsiveness, or ping, tells us how quickly data travels from our device to a server located on the internet. Ping is measured in units of time, and the rule is: the lower the response value, the better.
Responsiveness is very important for real-time communication. A high connection speed alone is not enough for a smooth internet call; in these cases ping plays a crucial role. Equally important is it for online gamers, who make high demands on low response times. For smooth gameplay, ping should ideally range from zero to a few tens of ms.

Lossless data transmission
For data to reach the user's target device exactly as it was sent, it is important that it suffers as little loss as possible along the way. With a fibre-optic cable information loss is usually zero, or only minimal. When it does occur, it is usually caused by incorrect use or damage to the cable.
Maintains connection quality
Fibre makes it possible to connect several devices at once, without any loss of quality. Several computers, mobile phones, televisions and other household appliances in one household are no problem. However, it is always important to choose the most suitable equipment. Our technicians are happy to help you with that.
