There are many online tools that let you check your internet speed. Among the best known are Speedtest by Ookla, Fast.com by Netflix, or tools provided by your internet provider. Choose a reliable and widely used tool for the most accurate results. Then follow the steps below and find out the most accurate measurement of your internet speed.
Choose a suitable tool for measuring speed
There are many online tools that let you check your internet speed. Among the best known are Speedtest by Ookla, Fast.com by Netflix, or tools provided by your internet provider. Choose a reliable and widely used tool for the most accurate results.
Prepare your device and connection
Before you start, make sure that no other application is using a broadband connection, so that the results are not affected. Also make sure that your computer or mobile device has a stable and reliable connection to the network. Do not measure speed over Wi-Fi, because it often causes a drop in speed and a rise in response time.
Measure download speed
Run the selected tool for measuring speed and let it perform a download speed test. This value shows how fast your internet can download data from the internet to your computer or mobile device.
Measure upload speed
Just as with download speed, it is also important to measure upload speed. This value shows how fast your internet can send data from your device to the internet.
Repeat the tests and evaluate the results
For the most accurate results, we recommend running the tests several times on different days and at different times of day. Then evaluate the results and compare them with the data given in your contract with your internet provider. If the results differ significantly, you may wish to contact your provider to solve the problem.
TIP: By law, the speed must be available (the minimum speed you should be able to get most of the time) 60%
In this way, you can get the most accurate information about the speed of your internet connection and ensure optimal use of the internet for your needs.
