Do not believe an operator that they are the only provider at your address

In those 10 years I have heard from customers millions of times that when they called the traditional operator, they were told that they were the only ones at their address. Almost always, this is a blatant lie. Over fixed cable lines, for example, almost 100 companies in the Czech Republic provide internet connections. Of course, that includes us.

Watch out for installation surcharges

Since 1 April 2020, an amendment to the law has been in force, which prevents absurd commitments and pointless penalties for terminating a contract. However, some providers try to get around this regulation with an installation surcharge. When you join, it is “free”, but if you want to end the contract, you risk being charged for this “free” installation.

Do not take a router on instalments over 5 years

Many people do not realise the difference between an instalment and a rental. Be careful not to tie yourself to someone with an instalment for an overpriced device that is paid off over 5 years. If you then wanted to end the contract, you would have to pay off all the remaining instalments at once.
