About Hostivař

Hostivař (German: Hostiwar) is a cadastral area in the south-eastern part of Prague which, together with Horní Měcholupy forms the municipal district Prague 15. It belongs to the Prague 10 district and the Prague 15 administrative district. Before being joined to Prague on 1 January 1922, Hostivař was an independent municipality lying by the Botič (formerly Vinný potok). However, the Hostivař area is much larger and contains several units perceived as city neighbourhoods.
