Foreman / Technician for FTTH Fibre Network Construction

About the position

We are building our own fibre network and are looking for a technician who will be on our construction sites every day in the Prague-West, Prague-East and Benešov districts. You will make sure that digging, laying and cable blowing are done according to the design. You will ensure the crew on site has everything they need, and when necessary, you will lend a hand yourself. We offer cooperation either as a full-time employee or as a self-employed contractor.

What will you be responsible for?

• Daily supervision on construction sites: excavation, horizontal boring, laying protective ducts and microducts, cable blowing.
• Checking the route and laying depth against the design and checking that surfaces are restored to their original condition.
• Coordinating the crew and subcontractors for the day.
• Helping out with laying, whether by machine or by hand.
• Delivering materials to construction sites and keeping track of stock.
• Photo documentation, daily records and statements of work done.
• Reporting problems and extra work to the site manager and dealing with everyday situations with residents and the municipality.

What do we expect from you?

• Experience on construction sites, in earthworks or in network installation. Experience with fibre is an advantage.
• You can read drawings and routes in the project documentation.
• Thoroughness, reliability and a willingness to work outdoors. You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves.
• Category B driving licence. Category B+E (for a trailer with materials) is an advantage.
